The story: Ted’s at the National YoungArts Foundation building pairs innovative cuisine with live visual and performing arts curated by the esteemed organization. Head to the seventh floor to find the Frank Gehry-designed venue where a sleek spring/summer cocktail known as the Desert Rose is making us swoon. It’s a blend of gin infused with organic rose buds, prickly pear puree, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup, served up in a chilled coupe. Try it to experience the prickly pear, which is a cactus from Mexico. It’s cherished for its luscious flesh that imparts the flavor of sweet chunks of watermelon with a twist of raspberry tartness. The venue is open Wednesday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight. Performances in rotating disciplines such as dance; video installation; popular, classic and jazz music; and spoken word start at 8 p.m.
Where to find it: Ted’s at YoungArts, 2100 Biscayne Blvd., 7th floor, Miami.
