The story: Macchialina unveils a new cocktail menu this weekend and the classic Twentieth Century Cocktail is the headliner. This velvety drink was born in 1937 in the UK yet named for a train traveling stateside from New York City to Chicago for most of the last century. Macchialina’s head bartender William Rivas combines Botanist Islay Dry Gin with fresh lemon, creme de cacao and Lillet before shaking vigorously and pouring into an elegant cocktail glass. It’s a surprisingly balanced start and/or finish to an epic Italian feast.
