A sake cocktail with wasabi and avocado? Sounds gross, but somehow Sugar makes this work.
The bar
Sugar at EAST Miami
The vibe
Landing for the second consecutive year on the Condé Nast Traveler’s 2017 list of “The 10 Best Rooftop Bar’s in the U.S.”, Sugar is a lush and whimsical oasis on the 40th floor of EAST Miami where every visit feels like an exclusive garden party in the sky. And on Sundays, guests can now enjoy a special sake-inspired menu while kicking back to languorous beats by a live DJ.
The deal
Sugar’s newly launched Sake Sundays feature a special menu with two specialty cocktails made with SOTO sake and paired with two seafood entrees. You can also purchase specially-priced bottles of SOTO Sake ($75 for 720 ml) and Chateau Miraval Rose ($155 for a magnum).
Something to sip
Made with SOTO sake, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, calamansi juice and lime, the SOTO Sicle tastes like an elevated Mimosa – the perfect Sunday sip.
Other sips
Also on the Sake Sundays menu, the Avocado SOTO is a smooth and tangy blend of SOTO sake, fresh avocado, wasabi, agave, and lime.
Something to savor
Pair your sake cocktails with Sugar’s Sunday Roll, made with shrimp tempura, asparagus, and carrot, and topped with tuna, avocado, wasabi kick and eel sauce. Or opt for the Maan Haa Salmon, grilled and served with asparagus, carrot, shiitake, and a butter soy demi glaze. Also, don’t miss out on the tuna tartare, served with Thai chili, jicama and calamansi on rice krupuc.
