Dance music lovers who have been priced out of the Ultra Music Festival juggernaut in recent years will find that the now 18 and older 2016 event – which hits downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park for its 18th year from March 18-20 – will be much easier on the wallet.
While a three-day general admission ticket for last year’s festival was a whopping $449.95, the cost has decreased by more than $100 per ticket this year. Early Bird tickets, priced at $299.95, are available now on a first-come, first-served basis exclusively to fans who have registered at ultramusicfestival.com/tickets. If you didn’t get the memo in time, don’t panic: general admission tickets are available for $324.95. For those who prefer a payment plan, tickets are available for $349.95, payable in five installments (roughly one payment per month through February). Interestingly, though, VIP tickets have risen in cost from $1,149.95 to $1,249.95.
Despite the price cut for standard tickets, fans won’t experience any discernible dip in the talent pool, as Ultra Miami continues to draw the world’s finest DJs and electronic music acts. In 2015, notable headliners included Avicii, Carl Cox, Royksopp, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Deep Dish, Eric Prydz, Hardwell, Skrillex, Tiesto, Nicky Romero, John Digweed, Joris Voorn, Paul van Dyk, Pete Tong, Sasha, and many more.
Basically, if there’s a DJ you’ve been dying to see, he or she will most likely appear at Ultra – the lineup is so large that it’s now announced in phases (stay tuned to Miami.com for the gradual big reveals of performing artists).
While March may be a ways away, you check out the Ultra Miami 2015 Official Aftermovie, shot in spectacular 4K and available here if you want to get into the Ultra spirit early. It’s a 14-minute mini-documentary created by UMF Films and Charly Friedrichs’ FINAL KID team that captures the event from construction to deconstruction. The film features plenty of exciting footage, high-energy beats, magnificent Miami scenery, and an exclusive track from UMF favorite, DJ Martin Garrix.
