The story: The 19-story tower of the InterContinental Miami is poised to become a canvas for “performative architecture” this week. From Tuesday, Nov. 10 – 15, NEWT Miami: Experiments in Light, Color & Sound will bring one of Isaac Newton’s revolutionary theories to life as the hotel’s LED wall connects every primary color to a musical note. To celebrate (and establish a complete sensory experience), ToroToro will serve the “Sir Isaac Newton,” a customized cocktail created by NEWT supporter, Bombay Sapphire. Gin, fresh lemon juice, apple puree, and mint and cucumber syrup are shaken and poured over ice in a Collins glass— then topped with club soda. For garnish, a slice of apple and a mint sprig are added. It’s a nod to Newton’s law of gravity, and a spirited way to enjoy the latest large-scale public art installation to grace downtown.
Where to find it: ToroToro Restaurant & Bar, InterContinental, 100 Chopin Plaza, Miami. Projectnewt.com.
