The story: Mina’s is known for supplying Miami’s next “it” neighborhood for foodies with a mélange of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes like tagines and moussaka. The Marrakesh cocktail, created by the owner and her beverage consultant, fuses rye whiskey with Moroccan Mint Tea and housemade spiced pomegranate syrup. This yields a slightly smoky and totally peppy refreshment reminiscent of Morocco’s imperial city, where mint tea is green tea made with spearmint leaves and sugar. It traditionally represents hospitality and friendship, and pairs nicely with the restaurant’s big welcoming bar.
Where to find it: Mina’s Mediterraneo, 749 NE 79th St., Miami.
