Surprise! A soccer god just popped in to a World Cup watch party in Miami
The guests at FunDimension in Wynwood got quite the bang for their buck Monday night when a soccer god showed up at a World Cup watch party.
AS Monaco midfielder Paul Pogba popped in to catch the second half of the France vs. Iraq match from Philadelphia. Seems he and fellow fans chanting “Allez les Bleus!” brought his former national team some luck: They won 3-0.
Pogba, 33, was reportedly at the gathering to support friend and former teammate Blaise Matuidi, 39. The fellow midfielders helped France win the FIFA World Cup against Croatia back in 2018. Matuidi was running a fundraiser at FunDimension for PLAYSE 14 Foundation, a nonprofit helping to provide sports opportunities to underserved families.
After the match, Pogba, who has three sons with his wife, Bolivian influencer Zulay Salaues, checked out the sprawling entertainment center. The kids ran around playing laser tag and checked out virtual reality rooms, we were told.
The insider added that fans were super excited to see Pogba, who maintains an apartment in One Museum Tower in downtown Miami. He and Matuidi, who played for Inter Miami from 2020 to 2021, were “incredibly gracious” with their time, taking selfies with anyone who approached, and of course, chatted about all things futbol past and present.
FunDimension’s World Cup Watch Party Series continues through July 19, with LED screens, food and beverage stations, indoor and outdoor seating and “lots of fun,” the venue adds.
