‘Feeling oh so lucky’: Hilary Duff kicks off big tour in South Florida
Hilary Duff is still that girl, and now she’s taking her fabulous self all around the world.
The pop star’s Lucky Me Tour just kicked off in West Palm Beach on Sunday night, her first time there in almost two decades. Duff’s trek, which travels to a whopping seven countries, is in support of her upcoming album, “Luck … or Something.” Did we mention it doesn’t end until February of 2027?
No worries. The 38-year-old mother of four (to a son with ex, NHL-er Mike Comrie, and three daughters with husband, singer-songwriter Matthew Koma) seems more than prepared.
“Oh, hi, night one,” Duff wrote next to a preshow video backstage at iTHINK Financial Ampitheatre, hair wet and robe still on. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion’s hit song “Check” duly plays in the background.
Duff’s damp mane could have been foreshadowing what was to come: The concert, a mix of old favorites and new stuff, was briefly halted after a flash storm passed through the area.
In subsequent posts, the onetime “LIzzie McGuire” star thanked fans for “showing up big” at the tour’s starting line.
“Feeling oh so lucky,” said the caption next to a picture of her in a glittery dress under a retro style disco ball.
Billboard magazine was there, reporting that concertgoers were treated to “a pyrotechnic-filled sendoff as Duff belted out timeless classic ‘What Dreams Are Made Of,’ complete with a shower of sparks, explosions of confetti and beach balls.”
Some attendees wrote back in the comments that they were the fortunate ones:
“You literally gave us a SHOW .... Thank you.”
“Literally best night ever!”
“Yes girl, you killed it!”
Next up is Tampa on Tuesday night at the Florida State Fairgrounds:
A lot of heat and humidity, but no rain in the forecast, phew.
