Lizzo spills secrets of ‘crazy’ SI swimsuit show in Miami Beach

It was the hottest ticket in town during Miami Swim Week — and the wettest.

Now, luckily, one of the stars is taking us behind the scenes, giving more deets about the flash tropical storm that almost wiped out the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Show at the W South Beach hotel on May 30.

“It was so crazy because it was raining out of nowhere and the runways were slippery as f---,” Lizzo said in a Friday interview on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio. “People were slipping and eating s--- all night.”

No bikini models were harmed during the making of the production. Well, not seriously.

The Daily Mail reported that due to the slick conditions, “Dancing with the Stars” pros Val Chmerkovskiy and Emma Slater took a tumble during their routine.

Sounds that despite of — or because of — the inclement weather, the bevy of beauties had a blast. Participants included ‘90s supermodel Molly Sims, comedian Tiffany Haddish, ex Housewife Bethenny Frankel, rugby legend Ilona Maher and influencer Alix Earle.

“Oh my God, it was so fun,” Lizzo continued, adding that “everyone was such a good sport” and powered through.

Like Lizzo, who was being modest. The 38-year-old “Truth Hurts” singer recently shed about 60 pounds on a serious weight-loss journey, and showed off the fruits of her labor at the SI event. The Detroit native rocked a baby blue one-piece with the word “B----” splashed across the front, a nod to the name of her upcoming album. She also did an outfit change into a black, glittery monokini.

“I didn’t slip,” she noted.

Want to see the show in entirety for yourself? It’s streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus, unfortunately sans the blooper reel. This is the first time the iconic parade of hardly dressed lovelies has been available to the public.

“The runway show has become far more than a fashion event,” says SI Swimsuit general manager Hillary Drezner. “It’s evolved into a global cultural moment that sits at the intersection of fashion, entertainment, sports and storytelling.”
