Trump Jr. posted for his daughter’s birthday. Then came the comments
You can’t please all of the people all of the time on the Internet. Especially if you’re from a polarizing political family.
But Donald Trump Jr. isn’t backing down after online backlash over an ode to his eldest daughter.
For Kai Trump’s 19th birthday on Tuesday, President Donald Trump’s namesake shared a carousel of snaps with the incoming University of Miami freshman.
Among the pictures are Kai posing with her friends and family, including her mom, his ex Vanessa Haydon; her late grandmother Ivana Trump; as well as with her grandfather, during his first term. The golfing phenom is also seen at the podium speaking at the Republican National Convention in 2024.
“I love you and continue to be amazed at the woman you’re becoming,” wrote the “Triggered” author.
The post racked up almost 4,000 comments, an even dose of best wishes and personal attacks, which we won’t reshare.
“Wow, so much hate mail over simple Happy Birthday wishes,” wrote someone regarding the trolls. “People are crazy, everything has its place.”
Interestingly, Jr’s fiancée Bettina Anderson also popped up in the comments section. Instead of wishing Kai well, the Palm Beach socialite, 39, threw some flirtatious shade at her husband to be: “I can’t believe you have a kid in college!” followed by a grandpa emoji, a wink and kisses.
The divorced father of five, 48, responded, “I’m an old man, babe.”
But not to worry. The wedding is apparently still on, and the banter is playful. Despite a rumor that Jr. and Anderson were postponing the nuptials until the conflict in Iran is over, the former “Apprentice” star shot that down on X after the story went viral: “News to me,” he wrote
