Gisele just teamed up with a fellow Miami supermodel. Here’s why
Local supermodels Gisele Bundchen and Karlie Kloss have teamed up — but not for a glam spread in a glossy magazine.
And despite being mega-influencers, they’re not promoting a fancy brunch with bottomless margaritas in South Beach somewhere.
The famous pals, who also happen to be neighbors and mothers of three, are helping out with a cause close to their heart: Lotus House, the largest women and children’s shelter in the United States.
Their philanthropic online fundraiser, which runs through Sunday and likely beyond, is to support the moms (and their kids) staying at the Overtown facility founded in 2004.
The photogenic duo appear in a sweet Instagram video asking the community to donate essentials that Lotus House residents put on their Amazon Wish Lists and provided the links. Key items include diapers, beauty products, towels, crib sheets, even undergarments.
“This Mother’s Day, we’re showing up for the mamas and little ones who need us most,” read the women’s caption. “When vulnerable families are provided with safety and new beginnings, it changes everything. And you can be part of that change today.”
Bundchen has been working with Lotus House, which she calls a “beacon of hope,” awhile. In 2023, the Brazilian fashionista, 45, broke ground on a children’s center there, plus donated $1 million toward building a new playground.
Kloss, 33, recently followed suit, pledging $1 million to go toward such resources as clothing, healthcare and toys.
“Every child deserves a safe, inspiring place to learn, grow, and dream,” said the former Victoria’s Secret Angel, adding the project is “personal” for her.
If you are too busy planning your own festivities for Sunday, organizers say the fundraiser will most likely extend beyond the big day.
