Gird your loins for this shocker: Sydney Sweeney ended up on the cutting room floor.

According to widespread media reports, the Hollywood actress had a cameo in surefire hit “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” in theaters May 1.

The sequel revolves around journalist Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) reuniting with her former nemesis editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) to save the fashion magazine. The original 2006 flick was based on the roman à clef by Lauren Weisberger, who was traumatized by notoriously prickly Vogue editor Anna Wintour at the hallowed Condé Nast offices in the late ‘90s.

Sweeney was hired to play herself as a celebrity client of Emily Charlton, Priestly’s long- suffering other assistant (Emily Blunt) who works for Dior in Part 2. She was seen on set over the summer shooting in NYC.

But the 28-year-old’s scene didn’t make the final cut, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The reason apparently had nothing to do with the fallout of Sweeney’s controversial American Eagle ad, which featured a play on words of the word “genes” and “jeans.”

A source told the mag that axing the part-time Florida Keys resident was purely “a creative decision.”

“The team working on the movie was grateful for her participation, making the decision to remove the bit a difficult one,” the insider added.

One cameo that didn’t get sliced? Lady Gaga, who was seen at the premiere.
