Controversial streamer’s trip to Brickell goes wrong. Here’s an update
Braden “Clavicular” Peters is back home from the hospital after a trip to Mary Brickell Village took a bad turn on Tuesday.
It’s unclear what ailed the “looksmaxxer”— aka a genre of people who alter their appearance often to the extreme for viral views and other reasons — but it’s a suspected overdose.
On Wednesday morning, the 20-year-old — whose handle “Clavicular” is an adjective relating to the clavicle, aka the collarbone — posted a selfie. The red marks streaked across his face are from “a life support mask,” he claims.
“Just got home, that was brutal,” wrote Peters, admitting to taking substances to make him feel “neurotypical,” aka normal while in public. “But obviously that isn’t a real solution.” In videos widely shared to social media, Peters is livestreaming on Kick at the outdoor mall taking selfies with bystanders. Looking woozy and slurring, he is nonetheless interacting with the fans, while informing them he is “gone” and “shredded.”
The influencer then gets on the escalator unattended and enters what appears to be Blue Martini, telling his entourage he needs to sit down. They take a seat in a booth as Peters continues to complain how messed up he is, using expletives.
“Oh my God, oh my God,” he repeats, laughing, while rubbing his eyes and throwing his head back.
Next to him, fellow looksmaxxer Androgenic asks his pal over and over if he needs an “Addy,” aka an upper, but the response is unintelligible. The livestream soon ends, but another video on X by online commentator Matt Wallace shows the young man being carried down the steps into an SUV.
Taylor Lorenz, a former Washington Post reporter, commented on Wallace’s post, informing the Twitterverse that Peters “ODd and had a seizure” and was in “stable condition but still in and out of consciousness.” She also claimed erroneously the hospital was going to likely keep him for 72 hours.
This is hardly the first time the New Jersey native has made headlines for the wrong reasons. Last month, Peters was arrested in Fort Lauderdale on misdemeanor assault charges, stemming from a Feb. 2 fight between his girlfriend Violet Lentz and another streamer at his Kissimmee, Florida, Airbnb. Cops say he instigated the livestreamed altercation to gain followers.
The content creator also was investigated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission after he and his friends shot multiple rounds into an alligator they assumed was dead in the Everglades. The video, shot while on airboat ride, was also made for views.
