‘Real Housewives of Miami’ stars are together again. Here’s why
Some “Real Housewives of Miami” stars had a mini-reunion on Saturday, just a few days after news broke the show was going on hiatus.
Alexia Nepola, Marysol Patton and Julia Lemigova were on hand at New You Media’s award ceremony for influencers in the beauty industry and beyond at 1 Hotel South Beach. Attendees included fellow “Housewives,” former model Cynthia Bailey from Atlanta, and stylist extraordinaire Rachel Zoe, from Beverly Hills. Other celebs from all walks of life included makeup guru Patrick Ta; TV personality Jeannie Mai; Kardashian pal Foodgod; and actor Jesse Metcalfe.
Nepola, dressed in a floor-length lemon yellow dress, picked up a trophy for being a “tastemaker.” The Bravolebrity was honored for both her resilience as a mom and brawn as a business owner. In 2017, the Miami native opened Alexia + Frankie’s nail salon in Surfside with her younger son who suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident in 2011 at age 13.
On Instagram, the OG she shared a few snippets from her big day, with a few castmates who couldn’t make it showing their support.
“Congratulations, gorgeous!” commented Kiki Barth.
“Sissys for life,” wrote Lisa Hochstein. “Goooo broooo.”
Lemigova, who shared some heart-faced emojis, told the Miami Herald she was glad she could be there in the flesh.
“It’s nice to be out and about,” said the onetime beauty queen who is married to Martina Navratilova.
As for what she thought about the locally shot series taking a break, Lemigova said it was a “complete shock.”
“We had no idea,” admitted the mother of four who is still extremely busy, but turning her attention to other endeavors.
Last year at this time, Lemigova starred in Florida Grand Opera’s “Carmen,” Georges Bizet’s tragedy of a gypsy turned freedom fighter. Though the Moscow native didn’t sing, she wants that to change. “I developed a real passion for opera and am working really hard, so not filming ‘Housewives’ gives me more time in the day to devote to this.”
As for Patton, she wouldn’t miss seeing Nepola get some props for the world:
“We all know Alexia has a true love for fashion,” said the publicist turned Mama Elsa caviar founder. “She embodies beauty and style in everything she does. I’m so happy for my bestie. No one deserves this more than her.”
