Troubled TV star Wendy Williams seen at father’s funeral in Miami
Wendy Williams was photographed at her father’s funeral in Miami Monday, days after the news broke that he had died.
Thomas D. Williams Jr., a retired New Jersey educator, was was 94. His death was first reported by the talk show star’s niece, Miami TV reporter Alex Finnie.
As expected, the former talk show, 61, host has not publicly commented on the family tragedy. That’s because she has been at an assisted living facility under a court-ordered guardianship for about two years. The divorced mother of one reportedly has little access to the outside world.
In 2023, Wendy Williams was diagnosed with frontotemporal lobe dementia and other neurological issues, but was let out of the facility to go to her father’s birthday celebrations last February.
The bright spot in of all of this: The TV personality seems to be in much better shape these days. The last time we saw Williams in the 305, she was on a motorized scooter. In Monday’s TMZ pictures, she’s seen outside the service (which appears to be at Range Funeral Home) looking upset, but walking unattended.
