TV talker Ana Navarro shares her view about Miami’s football scene
Ana Navarro usually spouts her opinions on “The View,” mostly about politics.
Over the weekend, the commentator let her feelings be known about a certain sports team. That would be the University of Miami Hurricanes, Navarro’s alma mater.
And there’s lots to talk about. The Canes made it all the way to the NCAA national championship and will take on the Indiana Hoosiers at Hard Rock Stadium on Monday night.
In an Instagram video over the weekend, Navarro tells her viewers that she’ll be attending the game with bells on (actually pom-poms). She also unboxed a haul that UM sent to her Coral Gables home.
“I live in Miami, I was raised in Miami and this town is going crazy right now,” said the TV star who emigrated from Nicaragua as a child and attended Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Coconut Grove.

Navarro, 54, went on to explain why the fever pitch is so high: UM will be playing at home against the Indiana Hoosiers, whose Heisman-winning quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, attended Christopher Columbus High School in West Miami-Dade.
“There’s a lot of Miami and reasons to celebrate,” said the outspoken personality who graduated in 1993.
Included in her green-and-orange swag bag were Canes jerseys, as well as a feed bowl for her beloved dog Cha-Cha, and two cups that she intended to use for “margaritas” or “maybe water.”
“I will be representing my Canes proudly this week and cheering for them next Monday,” Navarro said, throwing up the beloved institution’s signature hand gesture. “It’s all about the U.”
