All we know about Donald Trump Jr.’s engagement to Florida socialite: ‘Big win’
He put a ring on it. Again.
Donald Trump Jr. is engaged to Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson after dating for a little over a year.
The news came from the horse’s mouth during a Christmas White House reception Monday night. Fellow guest, right wing personality Laura Loomer, captured the announcement and shared it on X, formerly Twitter.
“I‘m not usually at a loss for words, because I’m usually doing the ranting and raving really well,” said the divorced father of five to laughs. “I want to thank Bettina for that one word: ‘Yes.’ When you go down” on bended knee, “you’re not sure what the answer’s gonna be. It’s always a little bit rough. But she said yes, which is a big win for the end of the year.”
According to Page Six, the 47-year-old first son popped the question at presidential retreat Camp David at Catoctin Mountain of Maryland on Saturday.
The lovebirds didn’t exactly have a conventional start to their relationship or meet cute. As anyone who follows Palm Beach gossip may recall, Junior was caught canoodling with Anderson while still very much engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Onlookers witnessed the pair on a cozy brunch date in August 2024 at the Honor Bar, inside the Royal Poinciana Plaza mall. Rumor was they were already a couple, and any local with a good set of eyeglasses was already aware.
The two didn’t go Instagram official for a few more months, preferring to wait until after President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Soon after No. 45 became No. 47, he appointed Guilfoyle as ambassador to Greece in a move that appeared to some as a consolation prize.
Guilfoyle has been quiet as a door mouse about her ex’s engagement. According to People magazine, the former Fox anchor is having a “hard time” processing the information and most likely won’t be sending a congratulations card.
“She only wants the best for Don, but she isn’t convinced Bettina is well suited for Don or that what they have is the real deal,” the insider told the outlet. “She feels Bettina is more interested in the prestige and attention that comes with being connected to the Trump family.”
Other sources disagree. Over the summer, after being spotted packing on the PDA in New Jersey, an insider explained to UsWeekly why they work together well.
“When it comes to his relationship with Bettina, it’s just about them,” the individual said at the time. “He wants a partner. She doesn’t need anything from him and just wants to be with him.”
Additionally, Anderson doesn’t help in social circles. The Columbia University grad comes from a prominent family. Her late father was Harry Loy Anderson Jr., who began running Worth Avenue National Bank at just age 26, and her mother is model turned philanthropist Inger Anderson.
So, burning question: Will Junior’s second marriage last? That remains to be seen, as in all blessed unions. But at Monday night’s party, he wasn’t the only one who seemed besotted.
“This has been the most unforgettable weekend,” said Anderson, 39, when her fiancé handed her the mic. “I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”
