‘Mood’: Diplo goes viral for unusual move during his DJ set at Basel
Diplo’s gone viral — but not for his supreme spin-doctor skills.
On Friday night, the EDM star born Thomas Wesley Pentz held court in the DJ booth doing his thing at Flaunt magazine’s Art Basel party at the CC Rooftop Social Club in Wynwood. While the house music thump, thump, thumped, someone in the crowd presented him with a tin of caviar, which Diplo hungrily scooped up.
Bystander video of the South Plantation High alum spooning up little bites of the pricey fish eggs while not missing a beat, literally, were shared to Page Six’s Instagram page.
The text over screen: “I want to be as unbothered as Diplo eating caviar during his DJ set.”
The Mississippi-born producer tries to offer the can back to the gentleman and to another partier, to no avail. Diplo then goes back to chowing down and dancing to Drake’s “Rich Baby Daddy” featuring SZA and Sexyy Red.
Commenters on the page were loving the scene at one of the weekend’s most talked about parties whose guests included Alexia Echevarria and Kiki Barth.
