What’s wrong with Sting? Rock star cancels three Florida shows

Sting reportedly put on a fantastic albeit “lower energy” show at Hard Rock Live near Hollywood Friday night, his first of two back to back shows there.

As per a review in the Miami New Times, the former Police frontman performed a mix of his solo hits and oldies on this stop of his 3.0 Tour. The crowd reportedly got to their feet toward the end of the concert, during the 1983 classic “Every Breath You Take.”

The next night, Sting was a no show. A note on his official Instagram says the British musician (born Gordon Sumner) was “under the weather“ and advised by a doctor not to perform.

The new show at the same venue is postponed to May 6, 2026. Fans should retain the tickets, which will be honored.

“Sting very much looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as he is fully recovered,” reads the post. “He apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates your understanding.”

South Floridians aren’t the only disappointed ones. Also canceled were the rock star’s shows on Monday at Hard Rock Tampa and Tuesday’s in Jacksonville at Daily’s Place Amphitheatre. Those rescheduled shows are TBA.

It is unclear what currently ails the 74-year-old icon, but back in January, he had to cancel a string of appearances in Arizona and California due to a “temporary throat infection.”

Let’s hope Sting’s on the road to improvement because he has lofty plans come early next year. The “Fields of Gold” singer is slated to headline a pre Super Bowl concert at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on Feb 6, 2026, two days before the big game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
