Ex ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ star: Why I would never return to the show
They are never, ever getting back together. Because Joanna Krupa is no longer in her “Real Housewives of Miami” era.
In a recent interview with Page Six Radio, the Polish model/actress — one of the original castmembers in Seasons 2 and 3 from 2012 to 2013, the year it was canceled — said she has zero interest, despite being approached for the 2021 reboot.
“I did have conversations about it,” the 46-year-old ex Bravolebrity told the outlet.
Krupa’s main reason for turning down Andy Cohen and co.? She’s a mom now and her priorities have shifted.
“I feel like it’s not the time in my life,” said Krupa who co-parents 5-year-old daughter Asha with her second ex husband, businessman Douglas Nunes, in Los Angeles. “I wouldn’t want my daughter to see mama in that kind of a situation.”
Krupa claims her “RHOM” castmembers needed inflammatory storylines and to start arguments because they didn’t want to “lose their spot” or seem like they had dull lives. (Where’s the lie, though?)
“You’re boring and you’re going to get canceled,” said the “Dancing with the Stars” alum. “These women will go out of their way — even if it was their best friend at one moment, they will backstab them eventually. They will go below the belt.”
The animal activist also says she may have had a harder time than other Housewives due to her fame, having appeared in magazines and on TV before the show.
“I felt like there were vultures on every corner,” said the host of “Street Rescue,” an animal rescue series on YouTube. “I felt like I was constantly being looked upon because they were waiting to say something or do something to be so dramatic... It was very stressful.”
Still, despite the chaos and in-fighting “RHOM” superfans witnessed back in the day (let’s just say Krupa’s not exactly besties with Lisa Hochstein or Adriana de Moura), being an OG opened doors.
“I have my own perfume line, I have other things that I’m working on. So I’m definitely content. I don’t need a show like ‘Miami’ to pay my bills,” she said. “I’m not going to sell my soul to make a living like that.”
Krupa, whose relationship with local nightclub impresario/ex husband Romain Zago was one of her major plot lines, will never be able to forget the experience completely, thanks to the Internet.
“Sometimes, memes pop up on social media or somebody messages you when there’s reruns,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, embarrassing!’”
