‘Love Island’ star Andrea Carmona reunites with ex in Miami
Reunited and it feels so ... awkward?
“Love Island USA” contestants Rob Rausch and Andrea Carmona both attended CELSIUS’s flavor launch party last Thursday at the Palm Tree Club in North Bay Village.
The exes, who briefly but intensely coupled up last year on season 6 of the Peacock hit, didn’t exactly end on the best terms.
The dating show involves a group of contestants living “Big Brother” style in a villa, under constant video surveillance. To survive, islanders must couple up with another Islander, whether it be for love, friendship, or survival; the winning pair receives $100,000. Viewers at home or fellow contestants can vote you off each week.
As fans know, Rausch fell hard for Carmona, and vowed to follow her when she got eliminated. But the 27-year-old Alabama man didn’t see through on that promise and ended up staying in Fiji and hooking up with other lovelies.
Carmona was actually cool and mature about the situation telling “Today” after her exit:
“At the end of the day, if there’s someone in there for him, that’s great because it does me a favor,” said the Miami native. “If he finds someone in there, then OK. Then it wasn’t meant for us to be, and I can sit and cope with that and move on.”
As far as Rausch goes, after the competition wrapped (with Odell Beckham Jr.’s younger brother Kordell Beckham and Serena Page snatching the haul) he didn’t seem too intent on rekindling anything with Carmona, 26.
On Alex Cooper’s “Call Me Daddy” podcast Rausch revealed he was taken aback by how active the FIU alum had been on social media in the wake of their fling.
“It’s probably better if we just kind of like keep our distance for now,” the snake wrangler told the host. “A lot has happened. She’s been like posting a lot. I was kind of like, ‘Woah.’”
Over a year later, all seemed pretty copasetic (ish) with these two. At the local party, they were even pictured in a cold plunge pool at the day club and on a yacht on Biscayne Bay. It was a sponsored event, so who knows.
But a source told TMZ, “Andrea was surprised to see Rob, but with all the curveballs that have been thrown at her, she was just happy to see him. She has nothing but positive feelings towards him.”
A source close to the situation added that neither had any idea the other would be there but “got along just fine.”
So will they ever recapture what they had in the villa?
We’re not sure about Rausch. But Carmona is one busy woman. She just wrapped up “Love Island Games” season 2 and may or may not still be with fellow contestant, Massachusetts hunk Josh Goldstein.
On Monday, she posted a video of herself walking into Miami Beach hot spot Mila to join her friends at a table with the caption, “The brunch debrief after getting back from LI Games.”
