Inside Hulk Hogan’s funeral in Florida. One person was glaringly absent
Laid to rest.
Hulk Hogan’s inner circle came to pay respect to the wrestling legend on Tuesday in Florida. He died on July 24 after suffering an acute myocardial infarction, better known as a heart attack at 71.
The Tampa Bay Times reports the memorial service was held at Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, just south of his Clearwater mansion. Although the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center reports Hogan was approved to be cremated, eight pallbearers carried a casket into the church.
After the private, high-security service, the coffin was brought by hearse to Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Clearwater, the TBT adds.
Among the family members who gathered to say their goodbyes were Hogan’s current wife Sky Daily and ex-wife Linda, as well as Nick Bollea, who was quite close to his father, and worked as a DJ at his Hogan’s Hangout bar.
Fellow WWE star Ric Flair, who faced off with Hogan in multiple matches throughout his career, was also there and posted a tribute on X.
“Even In Heaven, He Sold Out Again,” wrote Flair, tagging such famous attendees as former basketball player Dennis Rodman, singer Kid Rock and promoter Vince McMahon. “The Most Beautiful Funeral I’ve Ever Attended! EVERYONE Was There.”
Actually, not everyone.
According to UsWeekly, the late WWE icon’s daughter Brooke Oleksy chose to sit this one out. It’s no secret that the two had been estranged for the last few years.
In a statement after Hogan’s passing, Oleksy attempted to explain the rift that was apparently so severe that he never met her 1 year old twins with husband Steven Oleksy.
“We never had a ‘big fight,” said the 37 year old’s cryptic Instagram post. “My father and I never ‘fought.’ It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand.”
Oleksy isn’t even in the multi millionaire’s will, after requesting to be removed in 2023, UsWeekly reports.
“All I ever truly wanted from my father was love, honesty, and a deep connection. And for a few special years, I had that-with memories that will last a lifetime,” Oleksy’s statement continued. “My world is forever changed. But I’m deeply blessed with a loving husband and two beautiful children who remind me every day of life’s greatest gifts.”
