Back in the steambath.

Tom Llamas is anchoring “NBC Nightly News” from his hometown of Miami through Thursday.

And he picked the wrong time — summer.

On Monday, the 46-year-old Belen Jesuit grad got right into the thick of things, literally, reporting on the intense heat wave in these parts. Llamas was on the ground in Key Biscayne trying to stay in the shade while sweating it out with beachgoers complaining about the weather.

Earlier in the day, the huge Hurricanes fan talked college football on the ACC Network (”Go Canes!”)

Llamas’ trip is not all work and no play, though.

On Saturday night, the dad of three took his crew to the Marlins game, watching Miami beat the New York Yankees 2-0 at loanDepot Park in Little Havana. In a video on his Instagram, Marlins president Caroline O’Connor presents him with his own team jersey.

“Thank you for the warm welcome,” said the TV journalist’s post. “Always great to be back in the 305.”

On Sunday, Llamas threw balls around with his 7-year-old son Tomas at Palmer Park in South Miami, near where he grew up. The Loyola grad’s blood isn’t thin anymore, thanks to so many years living up north.

“It was so hot,” Llamas admitted of the outing. “I felt like I was going to pass out!”

Jumping in the pool later was no help.

“It felt like a hot tub.”

Despite the sizzling temperatures, the former NBC 6 fave who took over the NBC desk from Lester Holt in June, loves coming back to the 305.

“I see how Miami keeps growing and thriving,” he said. “I’m so proud.”

Other immediate plans involve pal Al Roker, who’s also in this neck of the woods.

Llamas informs us he’ll be showing his pal the ropes so that the “Today” show vet feels like a local in no time:

“We’re going to Little Havana,” reported Llamas. “We’re gonna have some cafecito, listen to some Cuban music and maybe buy a guayabera.”
