Tim Tebow announces the birth of his first child. The name has personal meaning
After nearly five years of marriage, Tim Tebow and his wife Demi-Leigh Tebow shared their pregnancy news in January.
And now the little bundle of joy is here, they jointly announced on Instagram with pictures of the adorable baby girl, sleeping with a pink bow atop dark hair.
Birthday: “7/6/2025.”
The name has special significance for mom, a former Miss Universe who hails from South Africa. The 30-year-old explains in the post that she never got to meet her maternal grandmother, but her sister Daphne, lovingly stepped in to the role of “ouma,” aka granny.
Her great aunt was “the epitome of grit and grace, loved Jesus, had the voice of an angel and made everyone feel seen and special,” said the caption, adding that Tebow was “thankfully” down with the name.
The legendary Gator, 37, and onetime beauty queen (neé Nel-Peters) met in 2018 at an annual Night to Shine charity event for people with special needs. Her late sister had a rare neurological condition. She told People magazine she had no idea Tebow was famous and, having grown up watching rugby, didn’t know anything about the sport of football.
The spiritually-minded couple married about two years later in Cape Town, and settled in Jacksonville, Fla.
