A south Tampa home that used to belong to the team’s owner George Steinbrenner has hit the market, the Tampa Bay Business Journal reports.

You’ll need to have at least $12 million in the bank, give or take.

That’s the going price for the the sprawling compound that the late Bronx Bombers’ owner purchased in 1986 and lived in for almost 20 years.

The current owners bought the home from Steinbrenner and his wife Joan in 2004 for $2.9 million. The late couple relocated to Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club nearby to live out their golden years.

The 8,567 square foot, seven bedroom waterfront mansion is located in exclusive Beach Park, about 10 miles from downtown Tampa.

“Known for its privacy and exclusivity, the estate is gated and walled, ensuring an oasis of tranquility and security in one of Tampa’s most sought-after neighborhoods,” reads the description. “Whether you seek a serene retreat or a vibrant hub for entertaining, this estate provides the perfect canvas for realizing your dream home in an unparalleled location.”

Among the many highlights are a boat dock with lift, two story guest house, resort style pool, tennis court and multi-car garage. You can install the batting cage yourself.

Compass Florida agents Mike Hughes and Jeff Shelton have the listing On Instagram, they call Steinbrenner’s crib “a once in a lifetime trophy property.”
