‘Meet my husband’: Tiger King just got married from behind bars. See the wedding photo
Prison is a little more bearable these days for the so-called Tiger King.
The Netflix star, also known as Joe Exotic, is a married man — behind bars.
The 62-year-old (real name: Joe Maldonado) announced the happy news via X. He shared a flower framed photo of himself and his husband, a fellow inmate named Jorge Flores.
“Never been more proud of someone,” said the caption on the picture of the groom and groom wearing tuxes, baseball caps and boutonnieres. “Meet my husband.”
A few months back, the onetime big cat owner alerted his followers that he was engaged Marquez, who is originally from Mexico.
As per CBS News, Marquez is doing time in the same Oklahoma facility for “immigration related issues.”
“I wish I would have met him long ago,” wrote Joe Exotic of his “amazing” partner, 33.
Now the two men have gone ahead and done the deed.
Maldonado is serving a 21-year stretch for a murder-for-hire plot involving rival Carole Baskin, of Tampa, Fla. He reports that he is currently appealing his sentence.
Didn’t know federal inmates could tie the knot? Why, yes, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The warden will likely approve a request provided the inmates are legally eligible to marry and are “mentally competent,” says the Federal Bureau of Prison’s website.
In order to be OK’ed, the marriage must “pose no threat to institution security or good order, or to the protection of the public.”
Maldonado told Fox News Digital in November that he had filed paperwork to make their union legal.
The Kansas native has told his fans that if Flores gets deported, and he is freed, he’ll go to Mexico with him.
“We’ll never abandon each other,” the newlywed wrote on X last month. “This bond is that strong.”
