Bill Gates slept here. Tech billionaire’s onetime South Florida mansion is for sale
Bill Gates slept here, and probably really well.
A sprawling estate the tech billionaire once owned in Jupiter, Florida, a little more than an hour north of Miami, can be yours. You’ll just need to cough up the tidy sum of $23.5 million.
Gates — who came in at No. 13 Tuesday on Forbes’ list of the world’s wealthiest people — bought this 9,458-square-foot mansion in 2009 for $5 million. The Microsoft co-founder sold it the following year at a roughly $1M loss, right at the height of the global housing crisis.
It’s unclear why Gates wanted to unload this awesome crib on the Intracoastal Waterway from his real estate portfolio. This tropical getaway has everything anyone in his or her right mind would want from a vacation home: a private dock with 200 feet of water frontage; indoor infinity pool with spa; and panoramic views for days.
The four bedroom, seven bathroom manse was basically made for fancy entertaining. Party perks include an outdoor kitchen; top of the line appliances throughout; and the pièce de résistance, a master bedroom with built-in bar.
The listing is with with Susan Hemmes, of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty. If you really want to salivate, check out the jaw-dropping pictures of the “coastal dream” the company recently posted on Instagram.

For those seeking nothing less than the finest in luxury living, this exceptional residence is the ultimate destination.”
