Hulk Hogan breaks his silence as ex wife and daughter take nasty feud to the Internet
Hulk Hogan has entered the chat.
On Saturday, as his ex wife Linda and daughter Brooke continued their feud over social media, the wrestling legend broke his silence, sort of.
“Getting ready for the new HH TV show,” said the caption for video of the WWE star, 71, eating popcorn with his current (third) wife Sky Daily.
In all seriousness, if there were indeed a sequel to “Hogan Knows Best,” the VH1 docuseries that centered around the famous family living in the Tampa Bay area, they would not be lacking for material.
If your Wifi was down for the last few days, we’ll try to break down the situation for you.
The whole thing kicked off last Thursday, when Linda, 65, posted a disturbing Instagram video blowing the lid on her estrangement from her daughter.
The former TV matriarch claimed that tensions are so high that she wasn’t even alerted about Brooke’s marriage (to former NHL player Steven Olesky) or that they just had twins.
“Somebody please explain that. I don’t know. It just doesn’t get better. I am by myself today, again, as usual,” Linda sobbed uncontrollably, her face bruised from Botox injections. “I’m OK with most things, but today something hit.”
After her mother’s “concerning” rant went viral, Brooke took to her own social media to respond.
“I try very hard to ignore issues surrounding my family, in hopes I might have peace in my life,” she wrote.
The 36-year-old ex reality star claimed she was “verbally and mentally abused since childhood,” and had no choice but to go no contact with both parents:
“This decision was made based purely on how they have each dealt with me directly my entire life.”
There does seem to be some regret about the rift with her mom. Brooke produced time stamps of correspondence between them to show that they are not totally estranged.
“She has been through A LOT of trauma and pain, my heart breaks for her,” continued the post. “You can’t control how others treat you, but you can control how you treat others and cope with things.”
Mom fired back in a lengthy Facebook post, calling Brooke “a narcissist just like her dad ...spewing lies to everyone and I’m supposed to defend my truth against that.”
She also denied she abused Brooke saying she she thinks she “spanked her once” and “called her a couple of names, by no means ever treated her the way she’s painting it.”
Linda went on to accuse Brooke of breaking her collarbone and abusing alcohol before ending the post ominously by saying if her kid kept trashing her, she would take her to court.
The next missile came from Brooke’s husband on Saturday, the same day as Hulk’s popcorn post:
“I cannot stand by and allow anyone to continue to hurt not only the most amazing person I am fortunate enough to call my wife, but also the distorted sense of power and relevance the media can sometimes grant individuals,” wrote the hockey star, 39.
Olesky said that the claim that Brooke broke her mother’s collarbone was “laughable.” He also shot down the allegation that she abuses alcohol.
“My wife will have the occasional cocktail or glass of wine, but neither of us has ever used drugs or any other substance that may alter reality,” said the Stanley Cup winner, calling her “the truest, most genuine person many have ever met.”
The gushing statement ended on a high note.
“Keep spreading peace, love and positivity.”
