‘Read the room’: Real Housewife called out for partying in Florida as L.A. fires rage

Ramona Singer has been having a blast in South Florida the past few days, but that’s a fact she probably should have kept to herself.

The “Real Housewives of New York City” star’s fabulous vacation last week included a fancy meal at Carbone in South Beach with a pal.

The caption: “Living my best life ... hope you all are too!!!”

On Friday, the reality star was enjoying the “bright and sunny” weather.

In an Insta Story, screenshotted by Page Six, Singer, standing on a terrace overlooking the water, wrote, “What a beautiful morning in Florida! What a way to wake up! Look at this view. Mmm, so happy.”

The posts of her gallivanting through the Sunshine State might not have gotten much scrutiny had the entire Internet not been obsessively following the wildfires raging in the Los Angeles area.

After yet another post showing her at a champagne-soaked birthday party surrounded by palm trees, her followers let her have it.

“Optics.”

“You need to apologize for being so gd tone deaf.”

“Read the room.”

“Don’t you think for once you can say something important? Like about the tragedy of what’s happening in California? Just ONCE say something meaningful, just ONCE.”

At least one social media user took the time to give the 68-year-old TV personality some constructive criticism. The person even used former “Real Housewives of New York” co-star Bethenny Frankel, who runs the disaster relief organization B Strong, as an example of a philanthropist to emulate.

“Honey, I love you, but ya gotta get a clue,” wrote @simondrake3. “Go to Bethenny’s page and see what she posts about the LA fires. Um…you heard about them, right? I know sometimes you are in your little Ramona bubble. You don’t have to be exactly like her, the Mother Teresa of all Housewives, trying to coordinate donations, but ya know, have a little compassion. Google LA fires if you are not sure what I’m talking about.”

As of Sunday, three blazes were still going strong, with a death toll at 24, dozens missing and thousands of structures destroyed. More than 150,000 residents remain under evacuation notices; 23,713 acres are affected, but that number could change any minute.

Finally, Singer got the message. On Monday, her Story had a link to donate to the NYC based Good Plus Foundation, founded by Jessica Seinfeld, comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s wife.

“The devastating wildfires in Southern California are once again causing unimaginable hardship for many families,” reads the nonprofit’s message. “For these families, it’s not just about displacement — it’s the loss of homes, safety, and security. We’ve been in close contact with our partners in Los Angeles, and we’re committed to providing timely resources to support families in this crisis and as they rebuild.”
