Is Elon Musk buying a pad in Palm Beach near Mar-a-Lago? Here’s what we heard
Is Elon Musk going to become a Florida man?
The Tesla/Space X founder seems to like it down here, judging from the amount of time he’s been spending at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach since the election.
Stands to reason that Musk would want to be near President Elect Donald Trump thanks to his status as unofficial “First Buddy” as well as his new gig co-leading the Department of Government Efficiency, or D.O.G.E.
So where would the South African native, 53, lay his head? Anywhere he desires, really. But there’s a rumor going around that the titan, who became a U.S. citizen in 2002, is looking at late beauty mogul Sydell Miller’s penthouse in the luxury Bristol building.
The waterfront 25-story condo, just a few blocks from iconic Worth Avenue, has all the perks the billionaire bachelor would need. Think spa, fitness center, pool, concierge services, the works.
“Every detail of The Bristol’s resort-like amenities has been thoughtfully tailored to strike a balance of optimal comfort, elite service and refined accommodation,” reads the description. “The tranquil, private spaces feature the highest grade of finishes such as meticulously crafted woods, stones and imported custom fittings, while lush landscapes are a nod to the heritage of classic Palm Beach.”
As per local outlet The Palmer Report, Miller’s family is “mulling” selling the 19,000-square-foot PH (actually two adjoining apartments) to the titan for roughly $100 million, a record breaking amount. The cosmetics entrepreneur purchased it in 2019 for $43 million soon after the building was completed, the Real Deal reports.
So where is Musk based now? In 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic the onetime L.A. resident announced that he was starting to sell off all his physical possessions, and subsequently listed seven California homes.
“I will have no house,” he Tweeted back before he bought Twitter and called it X.
As per the Houston Chronicle, the world’s richest man (who on Tuesday was worth $365 billion) rents a tiny crib in Starbase, Texas, near SpaceX headquarters. The father of 11 (with three different women) is also close to his brood, buying a “secret compound” for the whole lot of them in Austin.
That’s about a three hour flight away from South Florida on one of his many private jets.
