‘RHOBH’ star had affair with trainer in Florida when his wife was giving birth: report
When Teddi Mellencamp announced she had filed for divorce earlier this month, fans of the Bravolebrity were left scratching their heads.
Because the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum’s 13 year marriage to Edwin Arroyave seemed solid.
But new details are emerging about what may have caused the sudden split.
As per The Daily Mail, the mother of three — rocker John Mellencamp’s daughter —was having an affair with her horse trainer Simon Schroeder.
The L.A.-based German native runs Schroeder Sporthorses in Moorpark, California, with his wife Karli Postel. The couple began working with Mellencamp’s 11-year-old Westphalian named “Toad,” in 2023, as per Chronicle of the Horse magazine.
“[Mellencamp] was super excited about him,” Postel told COH in a February article. “But there were some bumps in the road, and she needed some help.”
As per DM, Postel apparently became suspicious about Schroeder and the reality star when they were in Florida together while she was giving birth to their second child earlier this year. The COH story says that she was due to have a boy in May.
It’s unclear exactly where in the Sunshine State they were, but our bets are on Wellington, in Palm Beach County, a hotbed for equestrians.
The new mom subsequently found hot and heavy text messages between them on Schroeder’s phone and he confessed.
Postel reportedly initially didn’t tell Mellencamp’s husband about the affair after Schroeder promised to stay faithful. But when she found proof that the extramarital relationship was ongoing, she ratted them out, a source told the outlet. Soon after, Mellencamp filed for divorce.
According to UsWeekly, Schroeder and the fitness entrepreneur are now done.
“Simon and Teddi had a thing several months ago but it’s not still happening,” an insider dished, adding that Arroyave had also been unfaithful.
Don’t look for more details from Mellencamp, whose divorce is still proceeding as planned.
On a recent podcast, “Two Ts in a Pod,” she said she is laying low for the sake of her kids.
On Instagram stories Wednesday, the melanoma survivor posted a cryptic message, quoting Bruce Lee: “Do not pray for an easy life. Pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”
