Serena Williams’ husband was just called her ‘umbrella holder.’ Here’s his reaction
OK, so he’s only 41 years old and worth millions, but the other day, tech mogul Alexis Ohanian was taken down a few pegs.
On Friday, as he was walking the rainy red carpet with his famous wife Serena Williams at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, a sports commentator completely misidentified him.
“[Williams] looks absolutely incredible. She’s got someone just behind us holding an umbrella,” said Eurosport’s Laura Woods, as per a widely viewed X post that isn’t available in the U.S. “Those are the levels you aspire to. To have an actual umbrella holder.”
The Reddit cofounder, who in 2013 made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 List of wealthy influencers, had a sense of humor about the flub.
After Woods’ live gaffe went viral, the tech mogul leaned in, sharing a photo from the ceremony on social media that included their oldest daughter, 6.
“I’m also Olympia’s umbrella holder,” joked the Palm Beach businessman who also shares daughter Adira, who turns 1 next month, with the 42 year old ace. “Sidebar: Y’all set the bar too low for me. Celeb dads get flowers just for *acknowledging* they have kids.”
