Two Miami sports icons make hilarious cameos in a new ‘Bad Boys’ trailer. See the clip
Dear Jimmy Butler: Please don’t quit your day job.
The Miami Heat guard appears in a hilarious promo for the upcoming “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” movie and we’re not so sure police work is for him.
The clip — called “Whatcha Gonna Do Jimmy?” — starts with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith watching a local TV newscast reporting that Butler is considering leaving the Heat.
Suddenly, the baller shows up at their house, asking to become their partner.
“I wanna be a Bad Boy,” Butler announces. “You’re not just cops, y’all like superheroes.”
Smith and Lawrence then put the NBA star through rigorous training, e.g., showing him how to bust open a door and “say something cool.”
Butler ultimately fails their test; the next scene cuts back to the same newscaster announcing that Butler has decided to stay with the Heat.
Soon enough, the men’s doorbell rings again and another world-class athlete shows up: Lionel Messi.
“Bad boys?” asks the soccer god with a big smile.
The Hollywood vets both look exasperated.
“Wrong casa,” responds Lawrence.
“They live down the... at the other thing,” says Smith, closing the door in the Argentine icon’s face.
The video ends with a must-see blooper reel.
It’s unclear whether Messi or Butler actually make cameos in the action flick, which sees the longtime partners framed and on the run. Guess we’ll have to wait to watch it in theaters, starting June 7.
