If unbothered were a person...

Sam Smith was spotted on Friday in Miami Beach, swimming in the ocean with friends, and strolling on the sand, apparently on vacation.

The “Unholy” hitmaker, who came out as non-binary back in 2019, was rocking a red Speedo-style bathing suit and appeared to not have a care in the world.

You’d never know the 31-year-old UK native had recently been embroiled in a wee bit of controversy over a gig headlining the BBC Proms classical music festival.

Last year, Smith faced controversy over their devil costume during the Grammys, an eyebrow-raising set at the BRIT awards, as well as the NSFW video for “I’m Not Here to Make Friends.” Naturally, some folks didn’t see Smith as a great fit for the highly revered summer event, held every summer at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

But fest organizers defended their choice, and stressed that the “Stay with Me” singer’s Aug. 2 performance would be suitable for all.

“We have worked very hard with Sam Smith and their management to see how we can create something authentically Proms, and the look and feel will be entirely appropriate for the audience in attendance,” said Sam Jackson, BBC Proms controller, in a statement.
