Sofia Vergara steps out with soccer stars in Miami: ‘La Jefa has arrived to the 305’
Sofia Vergara will not be ignored, and we are totally OK with that.
The “Modern Family” star, who used to call the Magic City home back in the ‘90s, flew in just in time for the weekend, and almost immediately began striking poses on Instagram. In one shot, Vergara stands in a black, slinky dress with the Venetian Causeway in the background.
The caption: “La Jefa has arrived to the 305,” then tagged her new miniseries, “#GriseldaNetflix.” The 51-year-old Colombiana underwent a serious transformation to play late drug lord Griselda Blanco, aka La Madrina (The Godmother), who ruthlessly reigned during Miami’s so-called Cocaine Cowboys era. The show is set to start streaming Thursday, despite a recent lawsuit filed in Miami-Dade County by Blanco’s family to stop it.
Despite the legal headache and splitting with hubby Joe Mangianello in July, Vergara appeared to have a blast. Paparazzi cameras caught her stepping out to dinner with some pals Sunday night at Papi Steak in a leather corset and animal print skirt.
At the pricey SoFi eatery, the actress coincidentally linked up with the most famous soccer player in the world. That would be Lionel Messi, who happened to be at the Groot Hospitality hot spot with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and fellow InterMiami teammates. They all eventually posed together for a group photo that you so know is getting framed by a few folks.
The “America’s Got Talent” judge was also seen burning off calories after eating Papi’s famed $1,000 steak, which arrived in a golden suitcase, getting down to the beat with her galpals.
“Just another Miami night,” she captioned an Insta video.
