Ivanka Trump went to this reality star’s birthday party — and people had questions
Hold up.
Many of Kim Kardashian’s followers did a double take after scanning her Instagram account over the weekend.
On Sunday, the reality star shared a series of photos taken at her 43rd birthday party at upscale Funke restaurant in Beverly Hills on Friday.
In one of the snaps, Kardashian, in a striking red dress, stands among four other women, one of whom includes Jeff Bezos’ gal, Lauren Sanchez. And at the end of the line in a sparkly cut out white number is Ivanka Trump.
“So blessed to have hit the jackpot of friends!” Kardsahian captioned the shots. “I couldn’t have ever dreamed I would be so lucky to call these girls my friends.”
For her part, the former first daughter shared two (since expired) photos with the SKIMs founder on her Stories, writing: “Loved celebrating you! HBD Kim.”
Friends? Bet you didn’t realize these women even knew each other. Same.

But according to W magazine, Kardashian and Trump, who turns 42 on Monday, are contemporaries who have crossed paths for years, despite growing up on opposite coasts.
Not only have they hung out socially at the Met Gala, but they’ve also worked together on more serious issues. Back in 2018, Ivanka helped facilitate a meeting for the budding lawyer with her father at the White House regarding the release of federal prisoner Alice Johnson (he ultimately commuted the Mississippi woman’s sentence).
A good chunk of Kardashian’s fans certainly were not aware, with one calling the former political advisor’s presence a “jump scare.”
One person simply asked, “Kimberly, why is Ivanka there???” The question received more than 9,000 likes.

Another troll with a private account expressed his outrage: “Really, Ivanka? The hypocrisy and disgust.”
At least a few folks were OK with the surprise guest:
“The best thing Kim did is post IVANKA… because it shows how important it is to have conversations with people with different opinions.”
“The amount of hate for Ivanka in this picture is the problem in this world.”
