Jeff Bezos just snapped up more real estate in Indian Creek, aka Billionaire Bunker, Bloomberg first reported.

The Amazon founder paid $79 million for a seven-bedroom, 14-bathroom mansion set on 1.84 acres.

Just a scant two months ago, Bezos paid $68 million for the waterfront estate next door on the exclusive, man-made barrier island on Biscayne Bay. High-profile neighbors include retired quarterback Tom Brady and former political couple Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

The king of Amazon, with a net worth of $156 billion, give or take, is now king of the hill over there, so to speak.

The 59 year old’s new lair has all the perks that the third richest man in the world would expect: movie theater, six-car garage, fireplace, library, pool, wine cellar, sauna, elevator, in-law/housekeeper quarters, the works.

The Internet mogul knows how to strike a deal; the property’s original listing from Dina Goldentayer and Danilo Tavares of Douglas Elliman carried a price tag of $85 million. It’s still considered the most expensive home ever sold there.

How much has our real estate scene changed in the post-pandemic era? The mansion last sold for $28 million in 2014.

Though he has houses all over the country, it seems Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez will be spending more time in these parts now. The Palmetto grad (Class of ‘82) knows the area from growing up here, and mom and stepdad have a massive spread in nearby Coral Gables. Jackie and Mike Bezos bought their 12,829-square-foot, six-bedroom, seven bath home in a gated community for $34 million in July.

The fam will be about 20 miles away from each other; in the 305’s rush hour traffic, that’s only about an hour’s drive.
