DJ Khaled’s son, 6, burst out crying at the Inter Miami game. See Messi’s reaction
Lionel Messi had an adorable VIP escort to the pitch at Tuesday night’s game at PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, but not everything went according to plan.
We’re talking about DJ Khaled’s son Ahsad, all of 6.
Dad, thanks to being buds with folks like Inter Miami’s co-owner David Beckham, was able to hook the child up to escort Messi to the field at Tuesday night’s match up vs. Atlanta United at DRV PNK Stadium.

On his Instagram the famed rapper showed the excitement leading up to the game, in which Messi again brought Inter Miami to victory, scoring two goals and an assist.
In one clip, Khaled is seen greeting Beckham, and hospitality mogul David Grutman backstage and introducing Asahd, who seemed fine at the outset.
The little boy then takes Messi’s hand as they are about to hit the field.
“Thumbs up, buddy,” says mom Nicole Tuck, who is pushing the couple’s younger son Aalam, 3, in a stroller.
“When do I stop?” the child asks.
“When does he stop?” Tuck asks.
It’s unclear if the directive was ever given but you then hear dad screaming and clapping, “Let’s go!!” as Messi and the boy head out to the screaming crowds as Khaled runs after them.
“My son! My son!” the “All I Do is Win” singer yells.
Many factors could have been at play — the noise, the smoke machine blowing in his face, the amount of people (the Fort Lauderdale stadium can hold 18,000 spectators) or the fact that the game was way past his bedtime — but Asahd suddenly burst out crying.
Messi, who has three boys of his own (Thiago, 10; Mateo, 7; and Ciro, 5 with wife Antonela Roccuzzo), tried his best to console him, putting his hands on Asahd’s shoulders as cameras snapped. He seems to calm down after that and gives two thumbs up.
Khaled didn’t include the teary clip on his Instagram, writing in the caption, “I’m so proud of my son.”
