‘Walkin into 50 … like a champion’: See how Gabrielle Union celebrated a big birthday
Gabrielle Union may not live in Miami anymore, but she is still fondly remembered as one of our favorite residents.
That is why we were so pleased to see Union’s 50th birthday on Saturday turned out to be as absolutely fabulous as she is.
The “Being Mary Jane” star documented the milestone occasion on social media, showing off a once in a lifetime trip to Africa with friends and family.

In one clip, Union strutted toward the camera in a gold and black dress, captioning the post: “Walkin Into 50… Like A Champion.”
Speaking of champions, hubby Dwyane Wade was also along on the ride.
The Miami Heat legend posted his own throwback tribute to his wife of eight years. The two famously wed amid relative secrecy in August 2014 at Chateau Artisan, down in Homestead.
“We’ve been at this for a solid min!!! 50!??? Where!?? Happy Birthday to my dream girl!” said the former baller’s love note. “We’re in Africa celebrating you as I type this. I’m forever grateful and in debt to the universe for choosing me to be your husband! Let’s keep making this love thing, do what we want it to do! I got you.”
Also helping mom celebrate was the couple’s daughter Kaavia, who turns 4 on Monday. We can’t wait to see even more festivities for the little one.
