Forget the Miami nightlife scene on Earth for a moment. David Grutman truly has loftier goals.

The magnanimous owner of such 305 hotspots as LIV, Komodo and SWAN is taking his talents to space.

Grutman’s new title? Experience Curator for the spaceflight startup Space Perspective’s passenger capsule called Spaceship Neptune, set to take off in 2025 (2024 is sold out).

“David is particularly known for creating immersive experiential venues with distinct atmospheres, infusing high energy and transportive luxury across a one-of-a-kind portfolio of restaurants, hotels, bars, and nightclubs,” announced the company on Instagram of the Naples native. “Welcome to the team David!”

Propelled by state-of-the-art balloon technology, the capsule meets suborbital hipster lounge will lift off at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, about a four-hour drive from South Beach.

A rendering of the upcoming “venue” shows plush seating, LED lighting, groovy blue cocktails and of course a view that’s out of this world.

Liftoff takes place at dawn so guests can soak up the sun rising as they climb to 100,000 feet and move at a cruising speed of 12mph.

“The elegant ascent in the climate controlled, pressurized capsule .... enables passengers to safely glide for two hours at the edge of space absorbing the phenomenal beauty of Earth and vastness of space,” says a release.

You can now book for this awesome happy hour which starts up in 2025. Trips start at $125,000 and naturally, these days, cryptocurrency is accepted.

So, Jane, how do you get off this thing? (The Jetsons reference was completely unavoidable). After two hours, you’ll gradually descend to Earth with a “splash” in the ocean, where a ship awaits.

Grutman is “beyond excited” for the futuristic gig.

“We really want to make this transformative,” says the married father of two. “The world class team at Space Perspective is on a mission to change people’s perception of what adventure travel can be. We have so many ideas on how we can customize the journey – from birthday celebrations and corporate getaways to creating seminal moments that will capture the imaginations of all.”
