DJ Diplo ran this Miami marathon with zero training, then went straight to the club
Diplo is the epitome of a rock star, even though he’s a DJ.
The Mississippi native born Thomas Pentz showed off his serious trotting skills on Sunday.
The Grammy winner, who attended South Plantation High School, was able to complete the 2022 Life Time Miami Half Marathon with no prep whatsoever (as in zilch). His time on the 13.1-mile course: approximately one hour and 45 minutes.
OK, official time: 1:50:11.
Diplo showed off his athletic prowess to his 5.8 million Instagram followers with Salt-N-Pepa’s classic “Push It,” playing in the background.
“My friend bet me again that I couldn’t run the Miami half marathon with no training,” read the music star’s text over screen.
Even more impressive? After zipping through the city on foot — the race wended through downtown Miami, Miami Beach and Coconut Grove — Diplo didn’t lie down in a dark cold room and hydrate. Hardly.
The 43 year old producer headed straight to the club (Space), with the marathon bib still attached to his shirt.
“I had to let everyone know that I run marathons now,” he joked. “I’m sleeping in my medal tonight.”
Wait. He sleeps!?
