These stately homes in Miami and Key West named the most beautiful in the country

Miami is home to one of the most beautiful stately homes in the country.

And no, we’re not talking about yours.

Living Cozy, which specializes in sourcing modern home ware and furniture brands, has named the top 10 most beautiful estates in the United States, and Vizcaya Museum & Gardens in Miami was no. 2 on the list.

The former home of James Deering, commissioned in 1914, shows off its Italian Renaissance and Mediterranean Revival architecture against the shimmering waters of Biscayne Bay. One of the highlights is its 10 acres of of Italian gardens, which are not yet underwater. We’re not saying that’s imminent or anything, but judging from the last king tide we witnessed, you might want to see them soon.

Right behind Vizcaya on Living Cozy’s list at no. 3 is the Hemingway Home and Museum in Key West, originally built in 1851. The author allegedly wrote “The Snows of Kilimanjaro” and “The Short Happy Life of Frances Macomber” in the French Colonial-style house in the 1930s (he lived there from 1931-1939). It is probable that numerous daiquiris were consumed at this time.

The most beautiful stately home in the U.S., according to Living Cozy, is the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. The only other Florida property on the list is The Ringling Mansion, Ca’ d’Zan, in Sarasota (no. 9).

Living Cozy came up with its list using strenuous scientific methods. By that we mean the analysts visited Tripadvisor, examined reviews and counted the number of times the following words were used: “beautiful,” “gorgeous,” “stunning,” “magnificent” and “lovely.”
