Rapper 50 Cent rang in New Year at this Miami club two minutes late. Here’s why
50 Cent started the new year off right, Miami style.
On Friday night, the Grammy winner almost missed the second the clock struck midnight as his fans were going too wild at E11EVEN Miami.
We were told the rapper arrived with a group of roughly 20 people (including his latest squeeze, Jamira “Cuban Link” Haines) to the red carpet at around 11:30 p.m. as guests lined up outside.
At approximately 11:50 pm, DJ Irie did a dry-run countdown to prep the crowd, but everyone kept screaming “FIFTY, FIFTY, FIFTY!” in unison.
By the time 50 was on stage to count down to 2022, the club was out of control loud and drowned out the music star.
The good sport rocked his 2003 hit “P.I.M.P.,” then then redid the countdown at approximately 12:02 a.m., insiders tells Miami.com. The hip hop legend then tore through such chart-toppers as “In Da Club,” “Candy Shop,” and “Disco Inferno.”
The “Power” star’s party continued at Gold Rush Cabaret where he reportedly popped bottles of his own brand of bubbly, Le Chemin Du Roi Brut, and whooped it up until late, we mean, early, Miami style.
