‘It’s my hit!’ ’80s pop star Tiffany has off-key performance at Florida show
Singer Tiffany experienced a bit of a hiccup during a show on Sunday night at the Iron Oak Post bar in Melbourne, Florida.
According to widely shared video and posted by TMZ, the onetime pop star forgot some key words to her famed 1987 song, “I Think We’re Alone Now,” a cover of the Tommy James and the Shondelles throwback hit.
Tiffany, whose last name is Darwish, stumbled through the beloved track and used profanities as her guitarist bravely played on.
Sounding hoarse and stumbling through the words, the 50 year old suddenly stops, and says “F--k you, guys,” to the audience. “It’s my hit! I’m gonna sing it right!”
The previous night seemed to go off without a hitch when the “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here” star played Saturday night at the Kelsey Theatre in Lake Park, Florida, and Friday at Boca Black Box Center for the Arts in Boca Raton.
Saturday’s performance was the California native’s last stop on her Shadows tour throughout North America to support her new album of the same name. It kicked off June 5 in Texas, so after all these months on the road, perhaps Tiffany was tired?
Regardless, she did not address the blip on her social media. The last post on Instagram seemed to be go up before the concert when she cheekily posted a selfie, with the caption, “Happy Sunday. Hope you’re all behaving.”
Her T shirt read: “Children behave,” a lyric from the throwback chart topper.
Her rep told TMZ, “Tiffany had lost her voice and got frustrated with her performance.”
