Want to know the secrets of Miami chefs? Bid at this auction for a personal Zoom session
Do you want to know the secret to Chef Adrianne’s fried chicken sandwich or Brad Kilgore’s soft egg? Are you curious about Antonio Bachour’s favorite dessert or what makes Jeremy Ford’s Stubborn Seed menu so special?
Ask Chefs Anything Miami is giving you a chance to find out in a Zoom session — for a good cause.
The group is raising money to feed the immigrant workforce in Miami, which has struggled financially during the coronavirus crisis. So Ask Chefs Anything has started an online auction, at which bidders can win a 30-minute Zoom session with local chefs.
Set up by Gaeleen Quinn, founder of Q&A Hospitality consulting and the Bogota Food & Wine Festival with help from the strategy and design consultancy Polonsky & Friends, the auction aims to provide 10,000 meals to Miami families heavily impacted by the coronavirus crisis. Quinn says the group has already delivered around 75,000 meals during similar auctions in New York City, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
So get your questions ready. Here are the Miami chefs and tastemakers whose time you can bid on:
Mauro Colagreco, Antonio Bachour, Michelle Bernstein, Michael Schwartz, Raúl de Molina, Deborah de Corral, Juan Manuel Barrientos, Daniel Figuerdo and Rosa Romero, Gabe Orta and Elad Zvi, Carlos Garcia, Nidal Barake, Fernando Trocca, Luciana Giangrandi and Alex Meyer, Eileen Andrade, Lee Brian Schrager, Anastasia Koutsioukis, Jeremy Ford, Lorena Garcia, Adrianne Calvo, Javier Ramirez, Cesar Gonzalez, Joel and Leticia Pollock, Diego Oka, Jose Mendin, Santiago Gomez, Daniel Serfer, Sven Vogtlan and Alan Drummond, Justin Flit, Victoria Pesce, Valerie and Nando Chang, James Tahan, Erika de la Vega, Tamer Harpke, Camila Ramos, Ingrid Hoffman, Grace Ramirez, Mariana Velasquez and Brad and Soraya Kilgore.
The funds from the auction buy discounted goods from Chefs Warehouse, which will also donate some products. From there, Chefs Warehouse will deliver the groceries to We Count, a non-profit group based in Homestead that represents the rights of immigrants, students and working people in the area. We Count will deliver the food to needy families.
