Watch Will Smith, DWade congratulate Miami’s ‘historic’ Class of 2020 in quarantine

Not easy, this graduating in quarantine thing, Class of 2020.

Nothing is as you envisioned it. No walking across the stage, no crowds cheering as you receive your diploma, no fun nights out at your friends’ houses.

In the coronavirus era, students marking the end of high school have to settle for drive-by parties with clanking pots and honking of horns.

We feel your pain, even though we graduated when leg warmers were a thing.

Famous people do, too.

A bunch of local singers, actors, even educators got together to make a video to send their best wishes to the students of Miami-Dade County public schools.

Will Smith starts the video, which appeared on MDCPS Superintendent Alberto Carvalho’s Instagram, saying Miami was his “town.”

“I know these are a little bit weird circumstances,” said the “Bad Boys” star, but then gave them a back-handed compliment. “You are the first class in the history of the world to graduate like this.”

Hunkered down with bf Shawn Mendes in Coral Gables, Camila Cabello sent a shout-out, too: wishing grads success, happiness and future adventures from her kitchen. The pop singer ended her clip telling them to “celebrate,” ostensibly in their back yards.

Dwyane Wade’s speech was the most touching. The ex NBA star said he he could sympathize with students who feel as if they were robbed in their senior year.

“Let me just say this: I know this year has been hard...You dreamed of the perfect day... of all the activities. A lot of that has been taken away. But know this: You will always be remembered.”

Also in the way Miami clip: Gloria Estefan who called their virtual moving up experience “momentous and historic.”
