South Florida’s Gulfstream Park Village is reopening after coronavirus shutdown

Although you can’t watch racing there at the moment, Gulfstream Park Village is back in business.

On the border of Aventura and Hallandale Beach, which was shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic, Gulfstream Park Village is reopening May 18 after Gov. Ron DeSantis approved the reopening of Miami-Dade and Broward counties next week.

The Village Center Green Space and the casino will remain closed. Horse racing continues Thursday through Sunday without spectators, but you can watch it at 1stbet.com.

Some restaurants will continue to provide pickup and takeout services, but now they’ll be open, too, under social distancing guidelines. Many will have expanded seating areas, including Yard House, Christine Lee’s and Pastry is Art.

Retailers, which include Crate & Barrel and The Container Store, will have new curbside pickup locations at the north and south valet areas and on Derby Lane. Most stores will keep their doors open so you don’t have to touch the handle to get in, and restrooms now use touchless door handles. Shopping center employees will be required to wear face coverings.
