David Guetta is performing in Miami. You can’t go to the show but here’s how to see it
The coronavirus pandemic put a temporary end to EDM shows in Miami - but this weekend, downtown residents may have a chance to see and hear a star from their balconies for a good cause.
In a partnership with the Miami Downtown Development Authority, producer and DJ David Guetta will perform a two-hour show on April 18 to raise money for coronavirus relief efforts.
“I’m very excited to share what’s been in the works for some time now,” said Guetta in a press release. “My heart goes out to all those suffering from the global health pandemic, and I hope that this livestream event will bring people together and help raise money for those in need.”
We’re not sure where Guetta, who is based in Miami, will set up, but the Downtown Development Authority says some residents of downtown high rises might have a prime view of the event. You can’t attend in person, though, so don’t even try.
And if you live elsewhere, don’t worry. You and everybody else in the world will have the best view on Guetta’s Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and Twitch channels. You can even watch it on the Miami Downtown Development Authority’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
The idea is to raise money for four nonprofit groups, including $150,000 for Feeding South Florida, which will fund more than one million meals in the area.
The show will also benefit Feeding America, the country’s largest hunger-relief organization; Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris - Hôpitaux de France, which strives to improve the conditions of healthcare works and patients in French hospitals and the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, which aims to provide frontline workers with essential protective wear and promotes efforts to develop vaccines, tests, and treatments.
The event starts at 6 p.m. EST.
