Local celebrities are doing their part to chip in during the coronavirus crisis.
A bunch of bold(ish) faced names are appearing in a public service announcement basically telling us to stay put to stop the spread of the disease.
We’re talking pretty much everyone who is anybody from this town is appearing in a video produced by Only in Dade. From Mayor Francis Suarez, who tested positive for coronavirus, to Liberty City rapper Rick Ross.
Yes, it’s a random crew. But the message is clear.
“So, once again the question of the day is, ‘Do you care?’” asks Ross. “And if you care, you will stay in the house.”
Former “Real Housewives of Miami” star Marysol Patton brings in her adorable dog Tupac to plead for people to stick in their cribs.
Miami Heat’s DJ Irie even makes an appearance, in two languages: “Whatever you do, just do it at home. Quedate en casa, por favor, brother!” DJ Oscar G does the same.
Mexican pop singer Mijares wrote on his Instagram along with the clip, “No one loves celebrating life with our people more than we do, but today (and until further notice) we urge you to PLEASE #STAYHOME.”
We get it, and thanks, guys. We’re working on it. But we still need to go out for TP and Lysol wipes.
