Telenovela star Danna Garcia says she has coronavirus after being ‘trapped’ in Spain
Madrid is a beautiful city, but for Danna Garcia, the Spanish capital feels more like a jail right now.
The telenovela actress (Telemundo’s “El señor de los cielos”) shared her frustration on Instagram, complaining that due to the coronavirus pandemic, she was unable to get a flight out to Mexico to see her young son. It’s unclear if Dante, 2, is currently with the child’s father, her partner, writer Ivan Gonzalez.
“I am trapped,” the Colombian beauty said in a live video captured by People en Español reporter Moises Gonzalez. “I am waiting, held up in Madrid, waiting to return.”
The 42-year-old “Perro Amor” star explained that she went to the airport to make a change to her flight and said there were “huge lines.”
“They told me, ‘No, you have to do it online,’” Garcia said of the unnamed airline. “I couldn’t change my flight, so I looked into new flights and they were 3,000 euros,” about $3,300.
“Obviously I cannot pay that, no one should pay that,” said the one-time Miami resident. “There should be a kind of discount considering this is a world crisis.”
Garcia remains safe, staying with her “in-laws,” but she is worried about them as well.
“They are older people who need to have a space as clean as possible,” she said. “No one is exempt from [coronavirus]. We all have to take care of each other.”
She added to her Instagram Stories on Monday that she is currently in self isolation due to breathing issues.
